 No Rules was a good book. In it, Elizabeth and Jessica were picked to compete in a nationwide challenge. They have complete some tasks. The team with the most points wins. This is sort of like MTV's Road Rules show. Anyway, the twins get onto different teams and Jessica meets a very cute guy from another college. Todd also goes and ends up on the same team with Jessica. Tom is picked as an alternate, and pays a contestant not to go, so he could go and be with Elizabeth. He finds out what team Liz is on, and trades teams with someone else. But at the last minute, Jessica and Liz changes teams so Jessica could be with that cute guy, Neil. Todd and Tom are also on Jessic's team, and fight most of the time. Meanwhile, Liz is on a team with Sam, who always makes fun of her. He doesn't really care about anything. On Liz's team, there's also a girl names Charlie, who's boyfriend is following them on his motorcycle so he could be closer to her. The first challenge the 4 teams have to do is drive to Las Vegas in their Winnebagos and collect as many coin cups from the casinos as they can. Liz's teams split up into groups of 2, and Liz is paired with Sam. They figure out they can't go in because they're under 21, even with Sam's fake ids. They sabotage Tom's chances of going in also, because he's over 21. They warn the security guards of 2 teenagers (Todd and Tom) trying to go into the casinos. Somehow, everyone on Liz's team don't get any cups, except for 1. Todd and Tom couldn't get any either, until they look in a garbage can and find hundreds of them. Jessica pairs of with Neil, and they also manage to find a lot of cups. Jessica's team ends up winning that event, and Liz's team comes in last place. The next challenge they have to do is paddle down a river as fast as they can. Liz's team also loses that event because everyone didn't end up at the finish line. Another girl on Liz's team, Ruby, fell overboard. Liz knew she couldn't swim very well, so she jumped in after her. The last event in the book was to see which of the 4 teams could drink the most water. Liz's team wins because they arrive there last because of a flat tire. The other teams were already there for a while and started drinking the cold water, because they didn't know that was the event coming up. Liz's team runs in at the last minute and drinks all the water they can, which was enough for them the win the competition. That night, Jessica's and Liz's team stop off at a sort of barn dance. When Todd asks Liz to dance, Sam said she shouldn't dance with anyone not on her team, and he asked her to dance. While dancing, they kiss for the first time. Later, Liz comes into the Winnebago while Sam was telling Josh, a guy on their team, about the girlfriend he has in Florida. Liz gets mad, but looks calm. Inside, she's really mad at him. Jessica also finds out a secret about Neil. That secret is he's gay. Jessica walks away for a while because she's embarrasses she didn't pick it up before, and Neil thinks she went away because she was angry at him. Neil goes to the Winnebago and sees a pile under the blanket on Jessica's bed, and apoligizes to her. That pile turns out to be a pillow, and Jessica's team leaves without her. This is how the book ended. I would give this book 4 **** stars.
